Poll Shows Tight Race Among Likely Voters

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, Aug. 21, 2018The Mick Rich for U.S. Senate campaign today released results from a telephone survey of 500 registered likely voters across New Mexico.

Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich gathered just 41% of the vote among those likely to go to the polls. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson came in third place. Because Johnson is well known, it is safe to assume that much of the five percent of undecided voters either will not vote or will vote for the Republican nominee, Mick Rich.

“This poll shows Mick Rich within seven points of Heinrich on Election Day,” said campaign spokesman, Nathan James. “But as the election of President Trump proved, it’s not polls that make elections, it’s the people.

“This election will come down to grassroots activation and voter motivation – which candidate inspires people to vote,” James added. “For the working families of New Mexico, Mick Rick is that candidate.”
